Pottery

Discover the allure of Tamegroute, a Moroccan village renowned for its distinctive pottery crafted from locally sourced natural materials. The crafting process is as fascinating as it is unique, with clay sourced from the River Draa and left to dry under the Moroccan sun before being glazed and baked in one of the village's seven ovens. Only seven families are responsible for producing Tamegroute pottery, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

The distinctive green and ochre glaze of Tamegroute pottery is achieved using locally sourced copper oxide. This process involves applying the glaze onto the ceramic vessel and firing it in a kiln, resulting in a spectrum of colors influenced by temperature and duration. These vibrant ochre hues not only enhance the presentation of Moroccan cuisine but also add a distinctive touch to kitchen decor.
