Inspired to elevate the village's status, the founders assembled skilled craftsmen to produce pottery that could rival Fes, the renowned pottery capital of Morocco. Today, Tamegroute remains a village, housing seven Atelier families, each owning their own oven and atelier, and preserving the traditional craft of pottery-making.

Craftsmanship and Sustainability: Tamegroute pottery is crafted using locally sourced and sustainable materials, following a unique process passed down through generations. It begins with collecting clay from the riverbed of the Draa valley, which is then molded and shaped by hand. After drying under the Moroccan sun, the pottery is glazed with manganese, silicon, and copper, creating the distinctive green glaze synonymous with Tamegroute. The baking process occurs in one of the village's seven stoves, fueled by palm tree branches and locally-sourced wood chips.
